Perhaps the biggest draw to the neighborhood is the lively Abacoa lifestyle. From Charleston Court it is just a short walk to the shops and numerous restaurants of Abacoa Town Center, which is also the site of many special events throughout the year. Art shows, international festivals, family events, movies on the green, a farmer's market, and classic car cruises are among the kinds events people flock to, and not just those from the neighborhood! People come from all over the area to partake in the fun.
No mention of Abacoa would be complete without a nod to Roger Dean Stadium, which happens to be the spring training home of the Major League Baseball Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. During the summer, the stadium hosts the games of the Florida State League, where you can see baseball stars of tomorrow before they hit the big time. (Sometimes, major leaguers rehab down here, and you can catch an up-close glimpse before they head back to their team.) When baseball's not being played, the stadium hosts special events of all types — Abacoa yard sales, camp-outs, parades, fairs, you name it. It's a great venue for the neighborhood.
